NSB to Open Full-Service Branch in North Conway, NH

NORWAY – Norway Savings Bank is pleased to announce that it will open a new full-service branch in North Conway, New Hampshire, in early 2025. This will be the first branch Norway Savings has opened in the Granite State.

The new branch will be located on the corner of Route 302 (Eastman Road) and Eagles Way, and will be a key component of the much-anticipated Ridgeline Community, a 126-acre development that will include 55 and older housing, “first step” workforce housing, ski condominiums, eateries, commercial space, medical office buildings, and memory care and assisted living facilities.

Site work for the new branch began in February of 2024, with the footprint of the bank and its future parking lot now clearly outlined. Foundation and base work should be completed in the summer, with the various phases of construction to follow.

“We’re very excited for this significant growth opportunity in what will be a beautiful facility, but also for the chance to provide our personal banking experience to a new community and its people as we help them reach their financial goals,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “As committed as we are to improving our online and mobile banking experience for customers, we understand the importance of having convenient physical locations to serve them as well. It’s a great day.”

The branch will be staffed by a combination of tenured NSB team members and bankers from the local area, including Michelle Luce, who will serve as the Market Manager, AVP; Jack Day, Commercial Loan Officer, RVP; and Kristen Charette, Mortgage Loan Officer, VP. The trio has already been working with residents and businesses in North Conway and nearby towns for years.

“The new branch will be an anchor for NSB to expand our relationships with the significant number of existing and new customers living and working in the Conway area,” said Luce. “It’s an exciting development all around.”

“We have been out in the community introducing ourselves to residents and business owners in the area and seeing many of our longtime customers face to face. I know the construction progress and the new NSB sign at the location are welcome sights,” said Day.

“I’m thrilled about the new branch,” said Charette. “The location is extremely convenient to most points in the area, provides easy access from Eagles Way and plenty of parking for our customers. The new residents and visitors at Ridgeline will have the option to bank practically next door.”

The new branch plans include a comfortable seating area with a fireplace, a community room for nonprofits and other groups to use, and several customer service offices to ensure maximum privacy. Rather than a traditional teller line, customers will experience an open environment with service stations. A two-lane, drive-through banking service will offer customers remote tube access, and the 24-hour drive-up “smart ATM” will enable customers to make deposits by cash or check without using envelopes.

The branch will be built with a variety of energy-efficient techniques including LED lighting, an energy-recovery unit to recycle the heat from exhaust air, heat pump technology that efficiently delivers heat and cooling, thermal and spray-foam insulation beyond code-required levels for maximum efficiency, and three-phase power to provide more efficient operation of the HVAC equipment and power.

In addition, a coin counting machine will be available in the lobby for community members to turn their pocket change into something bigger.

“All of the fees that Norway Savings receives from the coin counting machine will be donated to SAU #9 to support school programs,” said Walsh. “Middle and high school students will also benefit from Norway’s GO>2 checkless checking account which helps them save money while they spend using their debit card.”

Norway Savings Bank offers a full array of deposit and loan services: personal and business banking, asset management services including trust and estate planning, investment management, and financial planning. Customers have access to their accounts through online banking, mobile banking, smart ATMs, and telephone banking.

“We can’t wait to bring NSB’s 158-year tradition of providing financial solutions and the highest level of customer service to New Hampshire,” said Walsh. “We look forward to contribute value as neighbors and peace of mind as financial stewards in the years ahead.”
