Norway Savings Bank A+ Athlete of the Year

For the past two years, Norway Savings Bank has sponsored the A+ Athlete program in partnership with WGME 13 and FOX 23. Community members were asked to submit nominations for students that excel both academically and athletically in our local high schools. Each month from October to April, a panel of judges selected one student to be the A+ Athlete of the Month. The winner received a $250 college scholarship from Norway Savings Bank and was featured in a 30-second commercial that aired on WGME.

In April, each of the seven A+ Athlete winners was asked to submit an essay to explain their educational and career goals and reflect on the personal experiences that influenced their goals. A panel of judges from Norway Savings Bank read the essays and chose the one that they felt best represented what it means to be an A+ Athlete.

Ryan Sinclair, a senior at Hall-Dale High School was named A+ Athlete of the Year and received a $1,000 college scholarship from Norway Savings Bank.

Ryan, a three-sport athlete who spearheaded the initiative to introduce Unified Sports to the RSU 2 school district this year, will be attending the College of the Holy Cross next year and plans to continue making a difference in the lives of others by participating in the Outreach program at Holy Cross.

Please join us in congratulating Ryan on his accomplishments and in wishing him the best of luck on his future educational endeavors!
