Bike Maine with Karen: Week End Re-cap

Bike Maine – Day 6: Thursday night was so cold! I wore everything possible and still shivered! It didn’t take long for the sun to warm us up as we headed out of Lubec High School… Today was the longest ride of the week covering 73.1 miles with elevation gain of 4,092 feet! Our first stop was at Quoddy Head State Park where I took a selfie at the eastern-most point of land in the US. We had a great lunch in Whitneyville – I didn’t try the moose stew. I visited Wreaths Across America and was happy to arrive at camp in Millbridge along the Narraguagus River. I’ve had an amazing week and am sad to leave this beautiful area tomorrow afternoon.

Bike Maine – Day 7: Some vacations are DEFINITELY better than others! What an amazing experience I’ve had this past week and I am incredibly appreciative of Norway Savings Bank for sponsoring BikeMaine2016 and for this opportunity to ride and represent the bank!

Our president & CEO Pat Weigel, her husband Ben, co-worker Janet Ross and her husband Tom camped with us last night and rode the final leg from Millbridge back to Winter Harbor today – it was just the energy I needed to complete this 354-mile trek! My hat is off to everyone at BikeMaine2016 for hosting a top-notch event and experience! I am now back at home and am already thinking about my next bike trip! Thank you all for cheering me on my friends!
