NSB Named Sponsor of Yarmouth Clam Festival’s 2025 Maine State Clam Shucking Contest

YARMOUTH—It’s the marquee event of one of New England’s most popular and enduring summer festivals, and Norway Savings Bank is proud to be named its sponsor once again. The 60th Yarmouth Clam Festival is set for July 18-20, 2025, and headlining the entertainment, food, arts, activities, parade, and exhibits along and around Main Street will be the always anticipated Maine State Clam Shucking Contest.

“Just about everyone who has come to the festival, and many who have not, know about the Maine State Clam Shucking Contest,” said Maria Edwards, Branch Manager VP at Norway Savings Bank’s Yarmouth branch and a longtime volunteer at the festival. “It features celebrities, amateurs, and professionals competing in different heats to see who can shuck the fastest to earn bragging rights, and the joyous crowds the contest attracts are loud and passionate.”

This year, Norway Savings is proud to serve as the sponsor of the storied competition, which will be held on Saturday, July 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Memorial Green. All are welcome to attend and, as is the case with the overall festival itself, admission is free. Participants can register to participate starting at 10:30 a.m.

“It’s a thrill to be associated with this contest and the enjoyment it delivers to participants and crowds alike,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “The Yarmouth Clam Festival’s ability to welcome and offer a fun and memorable experience to over 100,000 visitors is incredibly impressive, and NSB is proud to be among the businesses and organizations who appreciate and celebrate the importance of the festival.”

The contest is a microcosm of this spectacular late July tradition: neighbors and new friends coming together, driven by a love of community and camaraderie.

“There is a sense of pride in being a part of Yarmouth and showcasing this town and its people to the world through this festival,” said Terry Seavey, Regional Retail Banking Manager RVP at NSB and a volunteer and organizer at the festival for over 25 years. “Hundreds of volunteers selflessly donate their time and talent to put on this event, and businesses are so willing to pitch in. NSB is grateful to be a part of this wonderful tradition.”
