NSB Donates $2,500 to Western Maine Youth Athlete Support Association in Bridgton
BRIDGTON—Camaraderie and a love of sport can be found in the wide smiles and high fives displayed by the hundreds of local children who have benefited from the Western Maine Youth Athlete Support Association (WMYASA) through the years.
Norway Savings Bank has been a longtime, major supporter of the association, which allows youngsters in the Lake Region area to participate and receive instruction in golf, tennis, hockey, skiing, and other sports. This month, NSB contributed $2,500 in support of the organization’s effort and impact.
Many local programs receive assistance and direction from the WMYASA. For instance, donations have enabled much needed financial support to reach the Pleasant Mountain Ski Club, which provided 22 scholarships to students who might otherwise have not been able to participate. WMYASA’s partnerships with local organizations play a key role in its success.
“Cultivating a lifelong love of exercise and sport is so important to creating and promoting happy, healthy, and thriving communities,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “These experiences will extend far beyond the courses, courts, rinks, and slopes for these young people as they mature and grow.”
