NSB Contributes $1,500 to Portland Museum of Art

PORTLAND—For over a century, the Portland Museum of Art has attracted people of all ages through its Congress Square doors to experience the beauty and impact of artistic creation and its role in building community and a better world.

Driven by a spirit of welcoming and a commitment to inclusivity, the museum welcomes nearly 150,000 visitors each year to enjoy its collection of nearly 20,000 artworks, attend special events, participate in family activities, and expand their imaginations.

“What’s amazing to me beyond the spectacular offerings and programming is the museum’s commitment to ensuring anyone who wants to experience the magic is able to do so. Everyone age 21 and under is always admitted free, all people are admitted for free on Fridays from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and on the third Thursday of every month for the entire day, all are welcome for free. It’s an extraordinary display of community and generosity,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank.

The mission and purpose of the Portland Museum of Art has inspired NSB for years, including a recent $1,500 donation.

“The donation of NSB directly supports our mission of ‘Art for All’ and helps us to create an accessible and inclusive place of belonging within our community,” said Ashleigh McKown, Director of Philanthropy for the museum. “We’re thankful for the support as ongoing partnerships like this are vital to ensuring that everyone can have the opportunity to experience the positive impact of the arts for generations to come.”

There are many ways to help the Portland Museum of Art with its efforts. To learn how you can assist the museum, check out the many programs and events, or to plan your visit, head to www.portlandmuseum.org.
