NSB Donates $2,000 to Benefit Pine Tree Camp and Opportunities for Local People with Disabilities

SCARBOROUGH—Norway Savings Bank is pleased to donate $2,000 to the 52nd Dysart’s Snowmobile Ride-In Weekend set for January 30 through February 2 in Hermon. It’s a beloved annual event with a meaningful motivation: raising money to ensure children and adults with development and physical disabilities can enjoy life-changing experiences through barrier-free access to the outdoors.

All proceeds from the weekend benefit Pine Tree Camp, a program operated by Pine Tree Society that accommodates individual campers’ needs and doesn’t turn away campers due to an inability to pay. Among the many activities at the 285-acre campus in Rome are swimming, fishing, gardening, adaptive sports and biking, an accessible playground, archery, music, drama, arts and crafts, cooking, snowshoeing, sledding, and so much more. The Ride-In provides summer tuition for campers in need.

“The Pine Tree Camp was established in 1945 and every year, hundreds of Maine children and adults get to experience this special place that aims to better the lives of participants and their families through respect, inclusion, and care,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “We are thrilled whenever we can offer support to this transformative program and the positive difference it makes.”

“We’re so thankful for the unwavering support of local businesses, including Norway Savings Bank, that appreciate our commitment to helping Maine people with disabilities as well as their families,” said Noel Sullivan, President and CEO of Pine Tree Society. “NSB has made a tremendous impact in the lives of the people we serve. With strong program impact and support like this, we are able to continue to grow and expand our services.”
