BRUNSWICK, ME (February 3, 2016) – Norway Savings Bank recently presented Seeds of Independence with a pledge for $9,000 in support of their capital campaign.
Seeds of Independence is a non-profit organization committed to ensuring that youth are on a pathway toward becoming independent and productive members of their community. Located at Brunswick Landing, Seeds offers after school enrichment and homework supervision for middle school youth from Brunswick, Topsham and Freeport.
Seeds’ programs, Grit, Navigate and Jump Start, are all having a positive impact on the youth involved, while providing them with a safe option to develop and achieve their potential. Tom Wright and his wife Willo, founders of Seeds of Independence, are dedicated to nurturing youth through an important developmental stage in their lives. “I am the product of good mentors and teachers and I hope to give this next generation the confidence to achieve the goals they set for themselves,” said Tom.
“We are pleased to see that the development of Brunswick Landing includes social programs for our local communities,” said Patricia Weigel, President & CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “The programs offered by Seeds of Independence are helping to build a strong foundation for our future leaders.”
