Norway Savings Bank celebrates 2015 employee achievements
NORWAY, Maine – Norway Savings Bank recently held its Annual Employee Awards Banquet to celebrate numerous employee achievements for 2015. The banquet theme was “The ‘70’s” and attendees dressed in costume and were treated to an evening of music and games.
Employee of the Year
Peggy Tilton, Regional Vice President of Retail Operations was named 2015 Employee of the Year. Tilton was nominated by several NSB employees across the bank for her attention to detail, genuine personality and focus on relationship building. Darci Hamm, Senior Vice President of Retail Banking, presented her with the award.
“Peggy has had an incredible impact on so many employees and processes in her 38 years at the bank” explained Hamm. “She has a steel-trap memory that is put to use daily in providing support to both the frontline and back-office operations. She has seen many changes in her tenure but never stopped moving forward.”
Tilton joined the bank in 1978 as a teller. As her career progressed, Tilton served as a customer service representative, teller supervisor and branch manager. In 1999, Tilton was promoted to Branch Administrator. Upon the merger with Coastal Bank in 2001, Tilton became a Regional Operations Officer for the Western Region Branches and has remained in this position.
President’s Award
This year’s President’s Award was awarded to Noel Graydon, Regional Vice President, Commercial Lender. Graydon joined Norway Savings Bank in 2008 as a veteran commercial lender and has consistently been a top performer on the commercial team.
“Noel is one of the most knowledgeable and experienced members of our commercial team and has made significant contributions to improving processes within the department,” said Patricia Weigel, President. “But more than his success as a lender and a departmental contributor, Noel is known for his intelligence, his approachability, his professionalism and his team player attitude.”
Graydon is selfless with his time and volunteers hundreds of hours each year, serving as a district fire chief for the Kennebunkport Fire Department and as a youth hockey coach. Graydon is also very active with the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA) and was named Volunteer of the Year in 2011.
Best Supporting Role Award
The Best Supporting Role Award recognizes an employee who consistently provides outstanding support and goes above and beyond to ensure world-class customer service throughout the organization. Krystina Cuddemi, Human Resources Specialist was honored as the 2015 Best Supporting Role Award recipient.
The award was presented by Richelle Wallace, Senior Vice President, Human Resources. “Krystina is always willing to give extra and enjoys helping people across the organization,” said Wallace. “In fact, she is known for her frequent quote of ‘Bring it on’!”
Culture Champion of the Year
The Culture Champion of the Year award recognizes an employee that exhibits the elements that define the Norway Savings Bank high achievement and high support culture. Mike Grant, PC & Application Support Specialist, was recognized as the 2015 Culture Champion of the Year.
The award was presented by Ann Brett, Senior Vice President, Chief Technology Officer. “Mike is loyal and willing to help with whatever is needed…no job is too big or too small,” said Brett. “Mike’s teammates fondly refer to him as “Mr. NSB” because he generates so much enthusiasm and promotes involvement in everything.”

Empowerment Award: Danielle Skorupa (Bethel) and Kurt Garascia (Asset Management Group)
Leadership Award: Erin Nelson (Bridgton and Naples), Jill French (Customer Care Center) and Terry Seavey (Retail Administration)
Team Player Award: Diane Andrews (Finance), Michelle Morse (Finance) and Jacob Raasumaa (Retail Loan Center)
Length of Service Awards
Employees who celebrated a milestone anniversary with the bank were also recognized at the banquet. The most notable Length of Service Award of the evening was given to Clark Martin, who has been with the bank for 25 years.
