“It’s Amazing”: New Hire Breakfast Celebrates Team Members’ Arrival

AUBURN—“At my last company, I never met the senior leaders. Today, they’re all here in one room and interested in who you are and what goals you have. It’s amazing.”

The sentiments of one new Norway Savings Bank team member encapsulate the meaning of New Hire Breakfasts at NSB and also the remarkable culture that inspires them.

On June 3, over 30 new NSB team members gathered with the Senior Leadership Team at the latest edition of the tradition, held at the Hilton Garden Inn Auburn Riverwatch (pictures below).

The event offers new team members the chance to talk one-on-one with senior leaders and an opportunity to discover more about the bank experience. Participants learned about NSB’s culture, brand, focus on team member development, community giving, and the bank’s encouragement of volunteerism.

The morning also features an icebreaker that helps participants make new friends and have fun.

“We did a human scavenger hunt where each table was a team and they had ten minutes to speak to as many people as they could and find people who matched up to the items that were listed out,” said Dacia Lukas, Talent Acquisition Specialist at NSB. “It was a really nice morning!”

“It’s a great tradition, and I know the senior leaders truly appreciate the chance to stop and introduce themselves to the new people joining the team, learn more about their paths to NSB, and their aspirations,” said Jackie Curtis, Senior Human Resources Officer SVP.

It’s a tradition that reinforces NSB’s “living foundation” of being a positive, team-based organization.
