NSB Makes $1,000 Holiday Donation to New England Arab American Organization in Westbrook
WESTBROOK—In recognition of the organization’s work towards bridging cultures, celebrating diversity, and empowering Arab Americans to build productive lives, Norway Savings Bank has contributed $1,000 to the Westbrook-based New England Arab American Organization (NEAAO). The holiday donation is one of many contributions NSB is making to local nonprofits during the season of giving (picture, caption below).
NEAAO provides an array of services for Arab immigrant men, women, children, and families by supporting the resolution of different social issues to pave the way for a healthier future in Maine. The organization assists immigrants with social integration, advocates for women’s rights, and supports higher education for teens. Some of their programs include community and school group outreach, special events, parenting groups, workshops on health and leadership, transition support, and even art and music.
“Community is where healing is and hope grows. We have a commitment to making Maine a place where everyone feels seen, safe, and supported. We’re here to connect, listen, and build something that lasts and is rooted in dignity, culture, and care,” said Zoe Sahloul, Executive Director of NEAAO. “The support of NSB and all of our participants make our work possible.
