Visitors’ Votes Help NSB Give Away $2,525 to North Conway Area Nonprofits

NORTH CONWAY—“Our investment in constructing this beautiful building shows how committed we are to being entrenched in the North Conway area. We strive to be a good neighbor, serve the people who walk through these doors, and assist those who need help outside them through our support of many local nonprofits.”

The words of Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank, were met with hearty applause during an early June ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new NSB branch on 11 Commercial Drive. NSB’s dedication to offering a helping hand to groups doing great things in its footprint extends to the 19th century, and now reaches into Mount Washington Valley.

In June, NSB invited visitors to the North Conway branch to cast their vote for a local nonprofit of their choosing, with the votes deciding where $2,525 would be distributed. The five winning recipients are: Jen’s Friends Cancer Foundation, a volunteer-operated organization that provides financial and human resources to assist clients and families while they battle cancer; Tin Mountain Conservation Center, which promotes an appreciation of the natural environment among children, adults, and families and demonstrates responsible stewardship of natural resources; Visiting Nurse Home Care & Hospice, an organization that offers exceptional home health care which enables independent living and better quality of life for clients and their families; Conway Humane Society, a community of volunteers, staff, and supporters dedicated to animal welfare through rescue, adoption, and education; and United Bikers of New Hampshire, an organization founded to conduct charity fundraisers and promote community enrichment.

Since the beginning of 2025, NSB has also made contributions to the Mount Washington Valley Housing Coalition, Cynthia’s Challenge and Trout Unlimited, with more on the way in the months and years to come.

“NSB is thrilled to expand possibilities for non-profit organizations in North Conway and surrounding areas through financial assistance, sponsorships, and volunteerism,” said Walsh. “We’re dedicated to building connections at nonprofits, learning how we can best help, and making an impact on crucial work that benefits people in need in the Mount Washington Valley.”
