NSB Delivers $5,000 to Five North Conway Area Organizations as Part of Surprise Holiday Donations
NORTH CONWAY—Norway Savings Bank team members continued their surprise “Holiday Helping Hands” donations to many worthy, local nonprofits this week with special stops at five North Conway area organizations, bringing five $1,000 checks along with them (delivery to Vaughan pictured below). NSB is thrilled to donate $1,000 checks to:
Brown Church Food Pantry
The food pantry serves the towns of Conway, Eaton, Albany, and Chatham. Over 20 volunteers pick up and sort donations, stock shelves, package, and prepare over 8,000 meals each month for many Mt. Washington Valley families in need. Located at the Conway Village Congregational Church on 132 Main Street in Conway, the food pantry is open each Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Gibson Center for Senior Services
Gibson Center provides programs and services to over 6,400 Northern Carroll County senior citizens that enable them to live independently and actively with purpose and dignity. Among the many offerings are a daily lunch program, Meals on Wheels, bus service, craft fairs, and housing opportunities. Located at 14 Grove Street in North Conway, Gibson Center is open Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes a thrift store that operates on Mondays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. To lend a helping hand, visit www.gibsoncenter.org or call 603-356-3231.
MWV Youth STEM Expo
Dedicated to expanding access to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) for young people in the Mt. Washington Valley, the MWV Youth Stem Expo will be held on March 18, 2026, at the Grand Summit Hotel at Attitash. The event is a chance for over 250 local students to get excited about science and build confidence by participating in and presenting research and engineering projects. Students will engage with community volunteers, industry professionals, judges, and educators in a spectacular academic showcase environment and, perhaps, imagine themselves in STEM careers. Provisions Food Pantry & Thrift Store
The mission of Provisions is to provide community members with affordable goods, promote sustainability, and help lead the fight against food insecurity in Carroll County. The organization, located at 1895 White Mountain Highway (Route 16) in West Ossipee, runs a food pantry that is open on Mondays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. and a thrift store that operates on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. To learn how you can participate in helping Provisions or to discover more about the organization, visit www.provisionsfoodandthrift.org or call 603-539-4456.
Vaughan Community Services
The organization serves all of Mt. Washington Valley with a food pantry and a senior non-food pantry program that provides health, hygiene, and household needs to aging community members. In addition, the Vaughan Learning Center is a licensed childcare center located next to the food pantry on 2493 White Mountain Highway (Route 16) in North Conway. The food pantry is open to all Mt. Washington Valley residents on Tuesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. and Thursdays from noon to 2:15 p.m. Donations to the food pantry and other contributions, both material and volunteer hours, are gratefully accepted at Vaughan.
