Brunswick and Topsham Branches Helping Students Prepare for Successful School Year
BRUNSWICK—Heading back to school is the last thing most students throughout Maine want to think about as the calendar turns to August, but three Norway Savings Bank branches are already focused on the year ahead to ensure Midcoast students have what they need to succeed.
Customers and community members can participate in a special School Supply Drive through Friday, August 28, at NSB branches in Brunswick (14 Gurnet Road and 83 Maine Street) and Topsham (47 Topsham Fair Mall Road).
All items will be donated to students, kindergarten through twelfth grade, in Brunswick, Bath, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell, and Topsham. NSB is working with local schools to connect the supplies with students in need.
The items most requested are glue sticks, black Sharpie markers, backpacks, binders (three-ring in particular), pencils, colored pencils, wide-ruled/one-subject notebooks, tissues, outdoor chalk, crayons, cap erasers, dry-erase markets, children’s scissors, and highlighters.
“Every donation, big or small, will help support local students and families throughout our community,” said Sophie Moreau, a Personal Banker at NSB who is helping to organize the drive. “We want to thank anyone who can participate for helping local students start the school year feeling prepared, supported, and excited to learn!”
The lobbies at both Brunswick branches and the Topsham branch are open Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. In addition, the branch on 14 Gurnet Road (Cooks Corner) and the Topsham branch are open from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturdays.
