NSB Names New Project Management Officer VP

PORTLAND—Norway Savings Bank is pleased to announce that Melissa Kraft has been named Project Management Officer VP. Prior to her arrival at NSB, she has served as Senior Digital Project Manager, Lead Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, Senior Web Manager/Delivery Manager, and in other roles at a wide range of companies and organizations across the U.S.

“Melissa is highly regarded for her ability to oversee projects and teams, efficiently manage multiple projects, and provide process and structure while engaging team members to perform at the highest levels,” said Richard St. Pierre, Senior Finance Officer SVP at Norway Savings. “We’re thrilled that Melissa is now offering her leadership, experience, and appreciation for customer satisfaction to NSB.”

“I feel like I was born to manage projects. I’m lucky that I found my calling fairly early on in my career,” said Kraft. “The meaningful common thread in the nuance of my career to date is the need to solve challenges to make people’s lives better.”

Kraft earned a bachelor’s degree in English writing in just three years from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, and holds certifications as a Scrum Master and Product Owner. She has worked in the digital space for many years, possessing particular expertise in content management systems and managing projects that enhance customer and client experience.

Her father was a distinguished member of the U.S. Navy, leading to Kraft being born in Newfoundland. She mainly lived in Virginia prior to moving to Maine over a decade ago, a place for which she has developed a great affinity.

“My favorite thing about Maine is the amazing outdoors! I love that I can be at several beaches and a couple of mountains in very short drives from my home,” she said. “I love that I am raising kids here who appreciate the genuinely kind people and natural beauty of where they call home, too.”

Finding a place like NSB to call home has been a dream come true as well.

“The people I met at NSB and the fact that we are a community bank doing real and sustainable good for that community was a huge factor in my choice to work here,” she said. “It is not always true that you can find a position that you are able to visualize the positive impact you can make as a team member. I feel like I have found that gift at NSB.”
