Have a Nice “Day”: North Conway’s Jack Day Lending Decades of Experience to Business Customers in Granite State Ahead of New Branch

NORTH CONWAY—“The North Conway branch will ensure that residents and business owners know we are here to stay.” “Here to stay” is an expression that Jack Day knows well, and a sentiment that Norway Savings Bank is glad he has felt about his home at the bank for 31 years.

“After graduating from Radford University in Virginia, I began work as an FDIC Bank Examiner. The bulk of my assignments were in South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida. I then transferred to New England, where most of my assignments were in New Hampshire and Maine,” said Jack, who is a Maine native.

In 1994, Jack left the FDIC for NSB, and has served as a commercial loan officer every day since.

“The win-win aspect of this work is truly satisfying – helping business buyers and business owners meet their goals and needs also results in bank growth,” said Jack, who is currently a Commercial Loan Officer Team Leader and Regional Vice President. “When my goals are achieved, everyone is elevated.”

Day has a well-earned reputation for successfully providing assistance and guidance to his clients in Maine and New Hampshire.

“In 2015, we had this one single store in Bethel and then we decided to expand,” said Luke Hiebert, Owner of Sport Thoma. “I sat down with Jack and explained to him what I was thinking and what I was trying to do. I envisioned Sport Thoma to be the best ski shop there is in the East. Then we expanded in 2019 to include seven new stores (including at Cranmore Mountain Resort in North Conway). I wouldn’t be here today without Norway Savings Bank. I believe that wholeheartedly.”

Over the years, Jack has also served clients in Norway, South Paris, Lewiston/Auburn, Fryeburg, and other Maine towns as well as many in North Conway, where NSB will open its 25th branch, and first in New Hampshire, on May 19, 2025.

“As usual, Norway Savings Bank is pursuing excellence in design and construction and truly sending a message about our commitment to North Conway,” he said. “It has been inspiring to see the new facility being built.”

Jack, himself, has lived in the Mount Washington Valley fulltime since last year.

“I began responding to a couple of New Hampshire inquiries at that time, with several of those inquiries being in the Conway area,” said Jack, who has been serving clients in the area since 1998. “North Conway still has a quaint New England village feeling but is clearly a major tourist destination. The significant tourist/second home population elevates dining and shopping opportunities far above that of most small New England towns, and there are majestic mountain peaks surrounding us in all directions.”

Now that NSB is “here to stay,” Day feels residents will quickly embrace the NSB way.

“I hope they will appreciate the things that are a little hidden from them. Behind me and the front line in the branch is a huge team of people. In order for the bank to excel the way we have, we needed all of these team members to be their best. I wish each customer walking through the door could see the inside of the bank – the whole team – the exact same way I see the inside of the bank.”
