NSB’s Dan Walsh Appointed Chair of Executive Committee for Maine Bankers Association
WESTBROOK—The Maine Bankers Association (MBA) has appointed Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank, as the Chair of its Executive Committee effective July 1, 2026.
The MBA provides Maine banks with a forum to exchange valuable industry information, gain maximum representation in state and federal legislative and regulatory matters, and receive education, training, staff certification, and compliance assistance. The Association’s 34 bank members operate more than 450 offices in nearly every community throughout the state and employ over 7,000 residents. In 2025, Association membership contributed over 135,000 volunteer hours to nonprofits and made more than $16.6 million in charitable donations.
Walsh possesses over 40 years of banking experience, joining Norway Savings in 1997 as a Vice President & Commercial Lender. In addition to his duties at NSB and the MBA, he currently serves on the boards of MaineHealth Mountain Region and MaineHealth Stephens Hospital (Vice Chair) as well as on the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council. In addition, Walsh is also a member of both the American Bankers Association’s Community Bankers Council and its Membership Council.
“I am honored and humbled to serve in this way. For 133 years, the MBA has offered guidance and assistance throughout the banking industry and has done so with integrity. I look forward to working with my fellow members of the Executive Committee in doing our part to ensure that the MBA continues to be a trusted partner to member banks.”
“Backed by decades of experience, Dan has a keen understanding of the banking industry and how banks of all sizes operate within it,” said Aaron Stetter, President of the MBA. “He is well known for his collaborative nature, sound strategic management, and willingness to promote the important role banks, particularly community banks, play in driving the Maine economy. I’m grateful that he will share his passion and prudence with the MBA in this role.”
