NSB Donates $1,000 to Conway Public Library’s Park Project
CONWAY—Inside its doors on 15 Greenwood Avenue, the Conway Public Library is a valued gem for people of all ages, residents and visitors alike. It is a place for learning, personal growth, and community gathering, playing a vital role in the culture and history of Mt. Washington Valley. Sitting adjacent to the library between the building and Wilder Street is Library Park. In support of an upcoming project to enhance the park, Norway Savings Bank has donated $1,000 to the cause.
“The goal of the proposed redesign of the park is to introduce a variety of elements that will make the park more useful to the community and allow the library to further carry out its mission,” said Jeff Beavers, Library Director. “We sincerely believe this project will benefit all citizens of Conway but especially our younger patrons.”
The plan includes a walkway surrounding the park, bike racks, a book plaza, café style seating, a picnic area, a pavilion structure, accessibility enhancements, and much more.
“We’re so thankful for the organizations collaborating on this wonderful project that will provide a beautiful venue for community activities and encourage lifelong learning and reading in young people from around the area,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “It will enable Conway Public Library to continue to serve as an important part of the Valley and offer even more dynamic programming.”
“Having a safe and beautiful open space for story hours for children, meeting places for people of all ages, and an outdoor pavilion for concerts and other art presentations would be an amazing community resource,” said Beavers. “We are grateful for NSB’s support of both this project and the meaning and purpose of the library.”
