NSB Sponsors Vision Climate Convergence in South Paris
SOUTH PARIS — In May, community members and many environmental experts in Maine gathered together for the ‘Resilient Roots, Joyful Shoots Climate Convergence’ held at Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris.
The event was organized by the Center for an Ecology-Based Economy (CEBE), which plans and hosts a variety of programs and initiatives aiming to help the Western Foothills maintain healthy, sustainable communities based on renewable resources.
“Over two days, we hosted 12 workshops examining creative approaches to our energy system, how we grow food, how we take care of ourselves, and so much more,” said Renee Igo, Communications Coordinator for CEBE.
Norway Savings Bank sponsored the gathering with a $1,000 donation in recognition of CEBE’s commitment to envisioning and creating solutions for food, energy, shelter, transport, and education roadblocks.
“We’re grateful for the work of CEBE and the meaningful and actionable discussions that were held during this event. We were particularly moved by how the organization designs its programming to lift up youth voices as part of the process, encouraging their enthusiasm and promoting engagement from people of all ages,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of NSB.
