NSB Donates $3,000 to Celebration Barn Theater in South Paris
SOUTH PARIS—“We are so thankful for the support and commitment of Norway Savings Bank,” said David Bruin, Executive Artistic Director at Celebration Barn Theater. “It makes what we do and the impact we make possible.”
That impact is impossible to even estimate when you consider the thousands of people who have been changed for the better by the Celebration Barn Theater in the last half century.
Located on an 11-acre property on Stock Farm Road in South Paris, the theater offers workshops and residencies for artists, presents a series of live theatrical productions, and brings the magic to students in local schools, helping to cultivate a love of the theater and performing arts in young people. The theater has provided physical theater artists, from mimes to clowns to actors, a venue to hone their respective crafts and share their work with appreciative crowds, building community among performers and audiences in the process.
Norway Savings Bank has offered consistent support of the theater for years, including a recent $3,000 sponsorship.
“NSB loves to support cultural institutions in Maine like Celebration Barn Theater that are encouraging creativity and offering unforgettable experiences to residents and visitors,” said Dan Walsh, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “People who visit the theater can also enjoy the beautiful walking trails around the campus. It’s a unique place to see.”
The Celebration Barn Theater was founded in 1972 by Tony Montanaro, a world-renowned performer and teacher, who drew talent from around the country and beyond to participate in his acclaimed Celebration Mime Ensemble. Through the decades, the offerings have expanded and the audiences have grown. Amanda Huotari served as the theater’s executive artistic director for 15 years through 2021, deepening the theater’s range of workshops, shows, and community-based initiatives. It even successfully endured the pandemic with online workshops that served hundreds of artists from over 25 countries.
“The theater has a storied history, of course, and our staff, volunteers, and artists are dedicated to not only the presentation and preservation of creativity and artistic excellence, but also in playing key roles in encouraging the next generation,” said Bruin.
The 2025 season at the theater features variety shows, films, storytelling, dance, concerts, and so much more. To check out the schedule, visit www.celebrationbarn.com/shows.
