NSB Names Darci Hamm as 18th President

Norway Savings Bank is proud to announce that Darci Hamm, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of NSB, has been selected as the bank’s 18th President, effective immediately. Darci succeeds Dan Walsh, who has served as NSB President since 2020. Dan will remain as Chief Executive Officer of the bank until his retirement on December 31, 2027, and will continue to serve as a member of the NSB Board of Directors following his retirement.
Biography
Darci Hamm was born in Bangor, Maine, and grew up just under an hour away in Lincoln, where she attended and excelled at Mattanawcook Academy, graduating as Valedictorian of her high-school class before earning a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Maine. Darci began her banking career as a Customer Relations Representative in the Auburn branch of a large, regional bank, quickly advancing to the roles of Assistant Manager and then Branch Manager for that financial institution.
In 1999, Darci’s path guided her to Norway Savings Bank as an In-Store Banking Administrator AVP. It was an offer and acceptance that has proven to be one of the best hirings in NSB history, helping to shape the bank’s road forward for the next quarter-century and beyond. In the years that followed, Darci’s responsibilities and oversight grew along with respect and admiration from team members and customers alike as she was promoted to Regional Vice President of Retail Banking and then Senior Vice President of Retail Banking. In 2018, Darci was appointed Executive Vice President and Senior Retail Banking Officer, overseeing Deposit Operations and Cash Management in addition to her leadership of NSB’s retail branch network, customer care, retail lending, and lending operations. In 2023, Darci was named NSB’s Chief Operating Officer, leading the bank’s enterprise strategy, planning, and execution across asset management, commercial lending, retail banking, cash management, customer care, marketing, and deposit and loan operations.
Hamm lives in Yarmouth with her husband, Mike, and has two adult children, Gavin and Evan. In addition to the University of Maine, she is also a graduate of the New England School for Financial Studies and the Graduate School of Banking at Colorado.

Darci personifies NSB’s belief of being a good neighbor in the community, contributing to the betterment of the world around us. In addition to her duties at NSB, Hamm serves on the Board of Directors for hoMEworks, which has helped thousands of Maine residents make sounder decisions in the homeownership process, and has functioned as an advisor and volunteer at a multitude of nonprofits, including the Olympia Snowe Women’s Leadership Institute and Junior Achievement of Maine.
