Norway Savings Bank Donates $1,700 to Maine Country Music Museum and Hall of Fame

NSB employees present check for $1,700 to members of the Maine Country Music Museum and Hall of Fame

NORWAY, Maine – Norway Savings Bank is proud to donate $1,700 to the Maine Country Music Museum and Hall of Fame in Mechanic Falls to help in their mission to share the history and heritage of country music with current and future generations of Mainers.

The Maine Country Music Museum and Hall of Fame, which was founded in 1978, currently houses memorabilia of more than 140 artists, performers, producers, promoters and others tied to the Maine country music industry.  Tours are by appointment with Slim Andrews, co-founder and 2002 Inductee of the Hall of Fame and long-time country music performer, and limited to 15 people or less due to Covid restrictions.

“We are very proud to support the Maine Country Music Museum and Hall of Fame,” said Patricia Weigel, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “They maintain one of Maine’s most interesting museums and the only Country Music Hall of Fame Museum located east of Tennessee! I encourage anyone who loves music of any kind to take a tour.”

“We would not be able to stay open if it weren’t for the generosity of companies like Norway Savings Bank,” said Ken Brooks, Chairman of the Museum’s Board of Directors and Hall of Fame Member since 2012.  “Our operating budget is very lean, and largely dependent on donations like this.  We are excited to continue providing tours of the museum, holding concerts and celebrating some of Maine’s greatest performers!”
