NORWAY, Maine – Norway Savings Bank is proud to announce a donation of $1,000 to the Bell Hill Meetinghouse in Otisfield, Maine to assist with major renovations to the historical structure.

Built in 1839, the Bell Hill Meetinghouse is one of Maine’s few meetinghouses still standing.  The Meetinghouse has served as a popular location for weddings, concerts and public programs for many years.  Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the Meetinghouse is an old building, with a long list of maintenance requirements. “On behalf of the Bell Hill Meetinghouse Association I would like to thank Norway Savings Bank for their generosity, and for their obvious dedication to preservation of important historic structures in the Oxford Hills,” states Bell Hill Meetinghouse Association President, Callie Zilinksy.

“The Bell Hill Meetinghouse is an important community resource for the residents of the Otisfield area,” said Patricia Weigel, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “It provides community members and visitors the opportunity to learn more about the historical roots of Otisfield and a place to gather for special events.  We are proud to help them maintain this historic landmark for generations to come.”
