NORWAY, Maine– Norway Savings is proud to donate $10,000 toward the construction of the new Mt. Ararat High School in Topsham, Maine. Serving the residents of Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Harpswell and Topsham, the new high school will be a state-of-the-art learning center with a modern, energy-efficient building designed for a 21st century education.

While the approximately $59,000,000 in construction expenses will be funded through state and local government, the Fundraising Subcommittee has set a goal of raising $500,000 to cover the costs of additional improvements to the new school not covered by state or local funds.

‘We are happy to be able to support construction of the new Mt. Ararat High School,” said Pat Weigel, President and CEO of Norway Savings Bank. “Every Maine student is entitled to a great education. With excellent school facilities, kids have a better chance at reaching their highest potential.”

“We are extremely pleased by the support of our communities and especially Norway Savings Bank for their generous contribution to our efforts,” stated John Hodge, Chair MTA Building Committee. “Our new school will be a testament of what can happen when government, businesses and individual citizens work together!”
