Norway Savings Bank Offers Fraud Prevention Training for Seniors

NORWAY, Maine – Norway Savings Bank will offer a free financial fraud prevention training session for seniors on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Greene Baptist Church at 102 Main Street in Greene.

Rob Norton, a Personal Banker at Norway Savings Bank’s Auburn and Gray locations, along with other employees from the bank, will provide a one-hour presentation called “Safe Banking for Seniors” focusing on scams and fraud targeting the elderly, and how to prevent them.

“Financial fraud is the fastest growing form of elder abuse and it’s absolutely disheartening,” said Norton. “It’s important to me that senior citizens are educated and informed on how to conduct safe banking and to be aware of fraud tactics. It is my hope that this presentation will generate awareness about different types of fraud and scams in this day and age.”

The fraud prevention training session will be held from 1:30-3:00pm. Interested parties can register by calling Rob Norton at 207-393-3600 or emailing [email protected]. There is no charge to attend. Light refreshments will be served.
