NORWAY, Maine – Norway Savings Bank is proud to announce a $500 donation to the Memorial School in New Gloucester as part of its “Pocket Change for Patriots” program. Every time a customer uses the change counter in NSB’s Gray branch, a donation is made to the Pocket Change for Patriots fund.
“When there is $500 in the fund, we make a donation to a school in the Gray/New Gloucester School District,” said Jane Watson, VP and Market Manager for the Gray/Windham market. “Since the program’s inception in 2015, we’ve donated a total of nearly $6000 to MSAD 15, helping with academic, athletic, extra-curricular and special programs.”
“We plan to use the money to buy books to distribute at our Free Meals Drive Through at Memorial School,” said Amanda Hennessey, Memorial School Principal. “We have purchased five different titles and plan to hand out the books during the week of June 8th. When children come to pick up their meals, our volunteers will provide each child with a book of the child’s choice.”
“It’s so easy to give to the Pocket Change for Patriots program,” said Watson. “Just bring your loose change into the branch lobby – which is reopening June 22nd – use the counting machine and the fees you would normally pay go to the fund. Everyone in the community is invited to participate!”
